Regions are ready to jointly organize congresses and exhibitions in the pharmaceutical sector.
Representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Bavaria headed by State Secretary Franz Josef Pschierer had a meeting with Sverdlovsk Governor Evgeniy Kuivashev and the experts from a number of ministries. As DCMU Director Dmitry Popov put it, “This visit is contributing to further development of economic ties between Bavaria and Sverdlovsk Region”.
“In particular, during this meeting we discussed possible cooperation in organizing joint congresses and exhibitions. NurembergMesseGroup, the owner of Nuremberg Messe Exhibition Center, could become a partner from Bavarian side. Sverdlovsk Region could exercise the potential of Ekaterinburg-Expo Center to host exhibitions showcasing technologies, products and services developed by German companies. On the other hand, NurembergMesseGroup Director General Peter Ottmann confirmed the readiness to organize presentations of Russian manufacturers in Bavaria”, Dmitry Popov also mentioned.
Both sides also discussed cooperation in pharmaceutical sector, medicine and biotechnology. These sectors are well developed both in Germany and Middle Urals – the Parties are interested in joint projects in R&D as well as production of medication and medical products. According to Mr. Pschierer, Bavarian export to Russia has noticeably dropped down in the last two years, however despite of the situation in international politics, Russia is still being an important trade partner of Bavaria; as for Bavarian companies – they do continue to operate on Russian market. Sverdlovsk Region is of an interest to Bavarian companies as a powerful industrial region. The Contact Exchange will be organized for the representatives of industrial companies from Bavaria and Sverdlovsk Region.
