On 17th of May Director General of DCMU Dmitry Popov participated in Reporting Annual Meeting of the Union of Machine-building Plants of Sverdlovsk Region. His presentation was dedicated to the support provided by DCMU to business in development of investments projects as well as modern trends in industrial territories development such as localization of production in Industrial Parks and benefits of it.
CJSC “Development Corporation of Middle Ural” – is subsidiary company of Sverdlovsk Regional Government providing support to Russian and Foreign companies in business development in the region. DCMU provides investment consulting free of cost.
“We assist federal and foreign business looking to tap the region. We help on investment decisions by providing information about Sverdlovsk Region, its taxes, infrastructure, research and development database, natural resources, potential local buyers and suppliers. This is also the way we promote local companies -helping them to attract foreign investments and to expand their production by launching new products. Besides DCMU is assisting regional enterprises to receive other government support – not only we talk about privileges, subsidies and grants, but also about assisting in government relations on federal level with state bodies and foundations” – commented Dmitry Popov
DCMU Director General has also discussed with top managers of machine-building plants the perspectives for setting up a production on Advanced Social-Economic Development Territory (ADT). This opportunity for regional companies resulted from the fact that the town of Krasnoturyinsk in Sverdlovsk Region has been awarded the ADT status. Application of Krasnoturyinsk was approved by the relevant commission of Russian Ministry for Economics Development in March. This means that after official decree will be issued Krasnoturyinsk and nearby Bogoslovsky Industrial Park will turn into the territory with special tax rates for business. If localizing its production on this territory a company will be able to significantly reduce tax payments and to receive other preferences and means of support.
Speaking about setting up production projects in Industrial Parks Dmitry Popov also mentioned about recent trend in Ekaterinburg to transfer the plants away from the city territory to the suburbs. Today industrial plants located in the city have an opportunity to sell its plots with great profit to investors interested in commercial and residential real estate development and then transfer its production to the specialized industrial zones off city borders but with good logistics and easy access to railway stations and major highways. The transfer of production could be easily done in a short while because the industrial parks normally contain all the necessary infrastructure, modern warehouse complexes as well as initial connection of gas, water, heating and electricity.
